If you have tried to do something and failed, you are vastly better off than if you had tried to do nothing and succeeded.

Our little tomatoe experiment is going 'wonderfully'!!! Here is #3 ready to eat!!

The grandkids spent the weekend with us! My son came over and played with them.

back to hats!

One person with passion is greater than the passive force of ninety-nine who have only an interest.

I am back to working on some hats.

We were out and about this evening and saw a lovely sunset on the way home!

I did it!!

The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with his love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

The pants are DONE!
Oops, from this picture it looks like one leg is shorter than the other! But it's not really! Seriously! I am so happy with the way they turned out! I hope she likes them and wears them until they are thread bare!

The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Gal. 5:6

I ended up using the entire can of spray starch, but IT WORKED!! I am SO happy with my new hat! I may just have to wear it all day today!

not much going on today!

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14

Not much going on here today so I thought I would post a picture from last summer.

I started the right leg of the pants and I have a hat on the loom. Guess I'd better go get busy if I'm going to have something to post tomorrow!

left leg: DONE!!!!

But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. Heb. 10:39

The left leg is done!! I am so excited!! Exactly one week. But, you something, it sure doesn't look like much all spread out on the floor like that, now does it??!!

Now for the right leg! I am so nervous! I know I made a couple of mistakes on the left leg. I just have to remember to make the same mistakes on the right leg!!!

Progress...

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

Progress on the pants.
My heartfelt thanks and gratitude to a dear, dear friend. Without her help, there is NO way I could be doing this! She is so patient with me in helping me to understand the instructions! (thanks, Jacky!) Because of her, I think it is going very well! And I am throughly enjoying every stitch!

DONE!

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

I am so happy to be done with the recipe box! I enjoyed doing it, but, to be honest, it did get a bit boring towards the end! (I am sure that I will be having an 'attention problem' once I get going on these pants!) Now I just need to put some recipes in it for her!!
The snow has started! We have a winter storm warning out. 4-6 inches by morning! Interesting! We have 'fun' food for the SuperBowl and I have knitting! Who cares about the snow?!!!

WIP's

"If you love me, you will obey what I command." John 14:15

I have not worked with plastic canvas for many, many years and my memories of it are not that good! But my daughter needs a recipe box! So far it is going well! A nice change of pace for a bit. This will be VERY simple! Nothing fancy! Maybe I will try to put a design of some kind on the top or front. We will see.

My daughter has also been begging me for YEARS to make her a pair of pants! This will be a true challange! I am SOOOO nervous! I hate the idea of spending a bunch of time at this and then they don't fit or she won't wear them. Oh well. I need the practise at knitting. And if she doesn't wear them, I will frog it and make hats!!!

baby hats

He must become greater; I must become less. John 3:30

Here are a couple of baby hats that I have been working on. But, for the most part, I am taking a slight break from the hats. I have made hundreds of hat in the last few months. Time for a short break. Of course, I will still be working on them, but I have a few other projects that will be taking up the majority of my time. Pictures will be coming soon!
