Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable His judgements,
and His paths beyond tracing out!

A couple of pictures from the beaches in MI from last Oct.

OTN: I have a child's sweater just coming off. I need to finish seaming it up and it will be done! (Picture to be posted tomorrow!) Yarn is sitting here next to me waiting to get cast on for the next sweater! I do have yarn gathered up and cast on for a mitered square sweater. I also have a couple hats on needles and an Irish Hiking Scarf.

There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan
that can succeed against the Lord.

Prov. 21:30

I have to say that I think Zinnia's are one of my most favorite annual flowers!
They are so bright and hardy! The butterflies love them, and they are great for photo ops!!

Hats worked on the loom.

For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.

Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of the sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.

Look what the mailman delivered to me yesterday!!
THANK YOU, HELGA!!
This will make some very wonderful, cuddly, warm hats!

Moonlight.
Last night's full moon.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:1-2

Last week I received a Creative Knitting magazine and found a pattern for this adorable baby sweater!! So I spent the weekend making two of them! This one is my favorite. (I'll post the other one tomorrow.) Both sweaters will find their way to the local Job & Family Services Office to keep a small child warm and cuddly! (and hopefully to brighten the care-givers day with these bright colors!! LOL!)
Again, I used a skein of the Caron Dazzle Ombre, along with some Bernat Super Value for the sleeves, collar and edging and K-Mart brand Sayelle for the body. I followed the pattern for the 24 mo. size on 10 1/2 needles.
And a special THANK YOU to Amy for gifting to me the book that inspired me to start embroidering on my knitting!

Last night's sunset.

Now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A requested knitted scarf for a friend of my mom's.

When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord,
He makes even his enemies live at peace with him.

Knitted Child's Sweater
I use the basic knit pattern that I found here:
http://www.dailyguideposts.com/help/knitforkids.asp
Only, I do my own thing with it. Like for this one I used a Thermal Underwear Stitch stitch pattern. I just thought it would keep a small child a bit warmer to have some 'cling' to the sweater.
This one is worked with RedHeart SuperSaver yarn in Winsor Blue

Geranium.

Yarn.
Just had to play with my camera!!

Better a little with the fear of the Lord

Knitted hats.

Inside: marigold

Outside: snow!

Just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.
For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will made righteous.

Iris.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have grained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand, and let us rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

Me and my Honey!!

Yet he (Abraham) did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised.

Playing with some more scraps of yarn!
Crocheted scarf with a hood.

Lots of brown this time of year.

But I did find just a little spot of color!

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,
turning a man from the snares of death.
Prov. 14:27

Knitted hats.
Ok, I was playing around with color again.
The plan was to do some embroidery on the dark green hat.
But as I was knitting it, the yarn had other ideas!
I have no idea what this yarn is, but it is very soft and has alot of stretchy to it. And it has subtle little flecks of color in it. There is no way it wanted anything else added to it!

I was just playing around with the camera the other day.
My wonderful Honey bought this funny face flower pot for me many years ago. Isn't he cute??!!
The Christmas cactus that is in it, is a start off the huge, old plant that was my Grandma's and set in her living room the entire time I was growing up! Isn't it beautiful?
The African Violet is the one that Honey let me get for 50 cents from the local home improvement store a few months ago.

A patient man has great understanding,
but a quick tempered man displays folly.
Prov. 14:29

Requested cloths.
LOL! I'm using this special request as a good excuse to try out new stitch patterns!

January KAL
I finished this a few days ago, but am just now getting around to getting a picture taken.
I am going to try VERY hard to keep up with the KAL's. By the end of the year, that will be 24 cloths. My plan is to then put them all together for an afghan.

Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death.
Prov. 11:4

LOOK!! what arrived at my house yesterday!!!
THANK YOU, BARBARA!!
These beautiful hats will put HUGE smiles on little faces
and keep little heads nice and warm!!

Here is the crocheted orange scarf.
Pretty. But still not as interesting as when done on the scarf board!

You were planned for God's pleasure...
God did not NEED to create you,
but He CHOSE to create you for...
His benefit, His glory, His purpose,
and His delight.

I felt the need to take a little break from the scarves and get a couple of hats done!

Mid-winter Black-eyed Susan

From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things

Prov. 12:14

Tuesday, January 08, 2008

LOL! I am having so much fun with this yarn!
Here is another scarf with it, but this time I crocheted it.
Not as interesting of a color pattern, but it did work up very nicely!
I still would like to crochet one with the orange, then knit one with this green/blue!

We had record breaking high temps yesterday!
Me and my camera just had to get out for a while!!

For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight,
but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.

Worked this one on the loom too!
Same yarn, just different colorway.
See how different the color pattern is!!
I LOVE working with color!!

The desire of the righteous ends only in good,
but the hope of the wicked only in wrath.

loomed scarf & sweet pea

I worked this scarf on the scarf board made for me by my uncle.
My Aunt gave me some yarn last summer that she had picked up a garage sale.
It is Caron Dazzle Ombre (50% Creslan, 50% Nylon) in Blue/Emerald.
My wonderful husband liked the color pattern so much he has claimed this scarf as his own!
That's ok because I have several more skeins to play with so I will be making more for my community knitting!

Sweet Pea.
An 'old-fashioned' flower that brings back memories of my childhood.

For since the creation of the world God's invisable qualities- His eternal power and divine nature- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
Romans 1:20

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgement on someone else,

There are times in our lives when our peace is based simply on our own ignorance. But when we are awakened to the realities of life, true inner peace is impossible unless it is received from Jesus.
