This fellow stopped by again yesterday
afternoon for a visit!
Always good to see him!

Hubby made chicken last night.
He coated the drumsticks with corn chips, then
added a few nacho chips to the mixture for
the thighs. He is so creative!

Child's crocheted sweater.
The pattern is from Bernat.
The yarn is Herrschners Wool Blend.

Show me the wonder of Your great love,
You who save by Your right hand
those who take refuge in You from their foes.
Keep me as the apple of Your eye;
hide me in the shadow of Your wings.

Scenes from along the Maumee River this morning.

Do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything,
by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.
And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Phil. 4:4-7

A pair of snakes enjoying the flower bed.

Our supper last night consisted of stuffed peppers
topped with our own tomatoe sauce, baked squash
which came from our garden and coleslaw which
also came from our garden!

Do everything without complaining or arguing,
so that you may become blameless and pure,
children of God without fault
in a crooked and depraved generation.

We have SO many crickets hopping around
this year!

Even the weeds are getting colorful!!

I have set the Lord always before me.
Because He is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
Ps. 16:8

My buckeye tree had it's first buckeyes this year!
Not only did it have fruit, but look!, it had
a double!! I am so thrilled! Doubles are rare. This
is the first season it has produced. And this tree
has lots of history!

Child's knit sweater.
Pattern is from a gifted book:
Bernat Classics For Babies and Toddlers
(Thank you, Patty!)
Yarn is: Bernat Berella '4'
(Thank you, Chris!)
Lots of gifts for me to play with and
send on to warm a chilly child.
I am so blessed.

I will trust in Your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
for He has been good to me.

Ps. 13:5-6

I am enjoying the change of weather menu!

We implore you on Christ's behalf:
Be reconciled to God.
God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us,
so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

butterfly on a goblin.

This hummingbird was joining us in our fun!
(not really. He was hungry and we were in the way!)

He died for all,
that those who live should no longer live for themselves
but for Him who died for them and was raised again.

Haven't seen many of these fellows over the
summer so I am thrilled to see them now!

My morning slushy.
I put an apple, some carrot and any
other kind of fruit I have in the house,
(we buy alot of fruit off the markdown racks!
I throw it in the freezer to use when I need it)
a few teaspoons of cinnamon, a few teaspoons
of honey and about 6 oz of water in the blender,
liquefy it and wha-la!
The daily dose of cinn and honey has gotten
me nearly off all my asthma medication.

Crocheted afghan.
Beautifully and generously worked
by my DD!!

Each of you should look not only to your own interests,
but also to the interests of others.

made matching bracelets for me and the child
yesterday using plastic grocery bags and pop
tabs.

yesterday's afternoon snack was
fresh grapefruit sections. Not in season right
now, so not really good, but still
refreshing!

Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
for it is God who works in you to will and
to act according to His good purpose.

grasshoppers abound!
walking along the edge of the bean field,
the whole field looks like it is alive!

Trying something new....

I am quite inspired when reading others blogs when they comment
about what is being fixed for meals and a recipe. I am always looking
for new ideas. So I thought I would start adding another
dimension to this blog and occasionally let you in on
what is being served here.

Yesterday for lunch, we had tuna wraps.
2 cans of tuna, 2 medium carrots (shredded),
7-10 black olives (coarsely chopped),
a scoop of mayo. Also added if it is in the refrig:
1 sm. apple (coarsely chopped)
1 stalk celery (chopped)
grapes (chopped)
3 green onions (chopped)

Fiber Content: Started another child's sweater yesterday!
Pattern: Better Than Vanilla Sock pattern
found here: http://knoxsocks.com/patterns.html
as a tribute to the late, wonderful Judy Sumner.
It will be a T-top style, worked in the round using
Bernat Jaquard's yarn.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit,
but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

beautiful bouquet handpicked by

For we must all appear before the judgment sat of Christ,
that each may receive what is due him
for the things done while in the body,
whether good or bad.

Since it's been awhile since I've posted any fiber content,
thought I would show off some of my current WIP's.
On the left are two crocheted sweaters, in the middle are two
knitted raglan top-down sweaters and on the right is
a bottom-up knitted raglan.
Each of these will be keeping kids warm this winter.

This requested adult sweater has been the focus of the
majority of my knitting time this week.
This is the second of three from Just One More Row.

The other 'knit time thief' is this adorable and fun
child!! Yesterday we made pizza. And hamburgers!

Whatever happens,
conduct yourselves in a manner
worthy of the gospel of Christ.

just some 'playing around' pics
from earlier this summer.

Fiber Content: I am working on the second sweater
from Just One More Row for a dear friend.
I do have about charity sweaters on my needles,
although the one I am currently working on the
most is being worked in a deep dark purple. It is
a bottom-up raglan with a cable in the front and back.

What does it matter?
The important thing is that in every way,
whether from false motives or true,
Christ is preached.
And because of this I rejoice.

We found this bug with this caterpillar yesterday.

"The Spirit of the Lord is on Me,
because He has anointed Me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim freedom
for the prisoners and

"Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth
by Your great power and outstretched arm.
Nothing is too hard for You.
You show love to thousands
but bring punishment for the fathers' sins
into the laps of their children after them.
O great and powerful God,
whose name is the Lord Almighty,
great are Your deeds."

Fuzzy caterpillar

We had some heavy dew last night!

"I will put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God, and they will be My people.
No longer will a man teach his neighbor,
or a man his brother, saying,
'Know the Lord,'
because they will all know Me,
from the least of them to the greatest,"
declares the Lord.
"For I will forgive their wickedness and
will remember their sins no more."
Jer. 31:33-34

For the kingdom of God is not
a matter of eating and drinking,
but of righteousness,

is pleasing to God and approved by men.

The remnants of 'Lee' have reached our
neck of the woods. I don't think the hummers
are too impressed!

Playing around with some Bernat Harmony yarn.
Just doing my own thing.

"For I know the plans I have for You,
declares the Lord,
"plans to give you hope and a future."
