This wood duck stopped by yesterday morning to
check out the plastic goose we have stuck in the
flower bed. He was not happy to see our resident
bunny out having breakfast!

Mr. and Mrs Goldfinch stopped by too.
Discussed the fact that we didn't have breakfast
set out for them, and left!

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
Ps. 139:23-24

Mr. and Mrs. Mallard
stopped by for a short visit!

The woodpecker is
loving the new feeder!

 FIBER CONTENT:
It has been brought to my attention that I haven't posted
any fiber content recently! Sorry.
I have several active sweaters on my needles,
in different stages of being completed.
I honestly thought I would have at least one of
them finished by now!
But life in general has gotten in the way!
Nothing serious, just a busy time right now.
I do however, make a point in knitting every
single day. Usually I can get one full hour in, but
at least one day last week, it was only 45 min!
Hate when that happens!

Neither he who plants
nor he who waters
is anything,
but only God,
who makes things grow.

Wild flower

Took the child for a walk yesterday to the park
and came home with these!

For the message of the cross
is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved
it is the power of God.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
 and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

The signs of spring are everywhere!

We have not received the spirit of the world
but the Spirit who is from God,
that we may understand what
God has freely given us.

For the foolishness of God
is wiser than man's wisdom,
and the weakness of God
is stronger than man's strength.

Yesterday was a great day to pick flowers
and make a beautiful arrangement for the
supper table.

Then He said to them,
"Watch out!
Be on your guard against all kinds of greed;
a man's life does not consist
in the abundance of his possessions."
Luke 12:15

The Garter Snakes
are quite plentiful
at this time of year!

For the kingdom of God
is not a matter of eating and drinking,
but of righteousness, peace
and joy in the Holy Spirit,
because anyone who serves Christ
in this way is pleasing to God
 and approved by men.

Early spring flowers.

I finally just picked this sweater up and finished it off.
I've had on the needles for quite some time, with only
just a few inches to finish. But I kept putting it off.
I love this yarn. I enjoy working with it.
I think I just didn't want this sweater to be done!
But I did it. I finished it.
Then I found some more of the same type of yarn,
in a different color, and immediately cast on
another sweater!!
The yarn is Filatura Lanarota
Fashion Tweed.

May the God of hope
fill you with all joy and peace
as you trust in Him,
so that you may overflow
with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13

The Tree of Life Afghan that I knitted for
my first grandson was revealed yesterday!
I used the Lion Brand Tree of Life Baby Throw pattern:
It is worked with Red Heart Super Saver yarn.
I changed the middle section of the pattern.
I found a fish motif, then surrounded it with a Ripple Stitch Pattern.
The fish is because he will be a fisherman.
The Ripple pattern is because one of his favorite places to
play will be the pond!
The green border is because the color of the year for 2013 is Emerald Green.
And for the green grass that he will be running barefooted through each summer.
The tulip border (which looks more like
falling leaves to me!) is worked in camouflage
because he will be hunting with his dad each fall.
And the white shell stitch across the top is for the
white, puffy clouds that he will be laying
under and dreaming.

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.
Honor one another above yourselves.
Romans 12:10

As of yesterday, this is what is left of the
elementary school that I attended.

Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought,
but rather think of yourself with sober judgement,
in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

early spring tulips.

We have different gifts,
according the grace given us.
If a man's gift is prophesying,
let him use it in proportion to his faith.
If it is serving, let him serve;
if it is teaching, let him teach,
if it is encouraging, let him encourage;
if it is contributing to the needs of others,
let him give generously;
if it is leadership, let him govern diligently;
if it is showing mercy,
let him do it cheerfully.
Romans 12:6-7

More spring flowers.

"The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven
has been given to you, but not to them.
Whoever has will be given more,
and he will have an abundance.

The Junco's
are still here!

And one more child's crocheted sweater
created by Doris.
We are now calling this the
'Doris Sweater'!
It is worked just like the one posted yesterday,
bottom-up, then the sleeves and body
are added with the yoke.

... in order that in the coming ages He might show the
incomparable riches of His grace,
expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
Eph. 2:7

A child's crocheted sweater
by Doris.
This is her own pattern.
It was worked bottom-up.
The body was worked,
then the sleeves,
then put together as she
worked the yoke.

"I will save them-
not by bow, sword and battle,
or by horses and horsemen,
but by the Lord their God."

last night before bed.

Out of the oven and
ready to eat for breakfast!

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-
His good, pleasing and perfect will.
