The grandkids are here for a few days.
Went for a walk yesterday morning. Had to wait for a train!
Went to the playground in the afternoon. What a challenge: taking a picture while on the swing!!
An opposum playing dead. Mama cat didn't like him getting so close. She ran up to him and he just fell over!

How great is Your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear You, which You betow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in You. Ps. 31:19

Got out for an early morning walk with my first coffee today! Beautiful! Last summer I did this regularly. This summer has been just a bit abnormal, to say the least!

A couple of hats that I finished up yesterday.

Those who hope in the Lord will renew thier strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Is. 40: 31

Went over to my mom's yesterday. My nephew found this mantis and had to come tell me about it so I could take a picture!! Do I have this family trained right, or what??!!

Finished up another hat on the loom.

Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting GOD,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.

Have I mentioned before how much I enjoy knitting? LOL!!

Stopped by my daughter's place yesterday and found this locust on her deck post! I haven't seen one coming out of it's shell for years! We didn't get to stay long enough for me to watch it, but I sure was excited to catch this much of it!!

Finally captured one of these guys! They are so fun to watch! They planted the sunflowers, they might as well eat them. It was just nice that one stuck around long enough for a picture!

Had to check in on the kitty's. Mama doesn't like me to get near them. But aren't they just adorable??!!

Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name.
Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

Just some misc. pictures from yesterday.
Nothing much real special going on. But a great day.

And some hats done on the KK loom.

Sing to the Lord, you saints of His; praise His holy name.
For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Ps. 30:4-5

Hubby and I went out for a short little walk yesterday evening. It was beautiful out! Lots of blue sky, just a few fun clouds. If you look close, you can see Mama deer and her little one along the corn field.

And some butterflies were playing around on the weeds in the ditch along the road.

Another hat got finished up while watching tv when we got back!

The Lord gives strength to His people;
the Lord blesses His people with peace. Ps. 29:11

Yesterday's knitted hats!

Took this picture on Saturday afternoon.

Went back out yesterday afternoon and found this!

The fruit of righteousness will be peace;
the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.

I am back to knitting!! And it feels so good!

I stepped out the back door yesterday morning and this little guy was sitting there greeting me!!
To be honest, I sure haven't seen many of them around lately. Especially considering how many of them I watched hatch this spring. I'm wondering if the birds have gotten most of them.

Look what I found in the flower garden yesterday!
In the spring, we decided to clean out all of our seeds. We had some still laying around from several years ago. I put all the seeds we had in a jar, shook them all together and spread them everywhere! Of course, with everything that has happened this summer, I had completely forgotten all about it!! The cool thing: look at the awesome worm that is on it!!

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You.

We were all over at my mom's house last night for a cookout. Of course, after eating, I took the opportunity to go for a walk! It was quite nice. We have been in and out over there more this summer than ever before, but it was always a rush. It was relaxing to finally be able to just slow down and enjoy being outside. Here is some of what I found!

Be still, and know that I am God. Ps. 46:10

Just had to get out for a photo shoot yesterday afternoon! So much going on outside! It's time for me to get out there and get caught up on all my little critters!

Last Thurs morning I met with my mom and the hospice nurse at the nursing home and decided to bring my dad home. The hospice nurse made the arrangements to have the equipment delivered to the house in the afternoon and transportation to take him there in the evening. I sent my mom home to take a nap and get everything ready and set up. I stayed with my dad for the day. While he was taking naps off and on during the day, I knitted this pink hat with the stripes. At the very end of the day, just before they came to get us and as I was finishing it up, my dad commented on how lost I would be without my knitting. That was the first and only time he has ever said anything about my knitting.
On Friday night I grabbed this purple one to take along with me over to their place to work on. I was staying the night there with him and I figured I probably won't sleep much. I got maybe an hour or so of work done on it. Then he got real bad. And passed away several hours later. We buried him yesterday and I finished this hat this morning.
Of course these hats will go to my charity projects, but these two will always have a special place in my heart. I am sure God has a very special head already planned for them.
The planter is one of the many that were at the funeral home. My mom asked which one I would like to have and I told her it didn't matter as long as it was something that had real plants in it. As it ended up, not only does it have a wide variety of plants but also has a Monarch butterfly pick. How incrediable!
Now we need to move on.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: REJOICE!!. Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard you hearts and you minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:4-6

My dad.

Show me Your ways, O Lord, teach my your paths;
Guide me in Your truth and teach me,
for You are God my Savior,
and my hope is in You all day long. Ps. 25:5
