I finished the sweater!
The front is worked in a basket weave stitch pattern, the back is just st st.
I am so happy with the way it came out! And I had alot of fun making it.
Of course, I have already started another one! This next one is bright orange!

Between getting back to working on the sweater, I did finish up my 'me' knitting. I felt the need for a new spring hat. I have plenty of things to do more embellishing with, but for now, this will do quite nicely! I guess I should have taken a close of the top. It is a button with leafs and a flower bead.


We stopped at the local 'big box store' the other day and they had this pot of blooming tulips. They looked a bit limp and pale, but it was nice to see some spring color, so I pulled out my camera!!

Here is a small sampling of what my knitting habits have been like the last couple of weeks. It is not at all unusual for me to have several hats on needles all at the same time. What is out of the ordinary now is that I have so many different things started at once. Not just hats. In fact, in this picture there is only 1 hat! I have a sweater, 2 scarfs, a mitten and a baby blanket here!


We have had 2 days of 70 degree weather! And look what is happening!! The goldfish showed up last night after supper and our first flowers bloomed yesterday afternoon!!
This morning I woke up to nearly an inch of snow on the ground and a 40 degree temperature drop!

Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!

No knitting pictures today! That's weird. But I had a busy day yesterday and didn't get anything finished and didn't take the time to take current pictures of my WIP's.
When I did sit down to knit last evening, I started something new. A little bit of 'selfish me' knitting. Hopefully I will get it finished up today. And then it will be back to all 'knitting with meaning'!


I did get out for a walk with my daughter yesterday afternoon.

I've been hearing the Redwinged Blackbirds for about a week now. It was so good to see them!!

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the field produces no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

I am hoping to get back to the green sweater here in the next day or so! Somehow, it got shoved to the back of the priority list for a while here and I am missing it!!

LOL! I was trying out a new mitten pattern! It will not work for kids! These are huge! LOL! But that's ok, I know adults need to keep their hands warm during the cold winter months as well!
And last night, by the time I sat down and got to knitting, my hands just seemed to fit quite comfortably around a larger set of needles so this scarf was what got my attention for the evening!

LOL! I have had a mess on the living room floor for most of the week! I am so blessed to have the most wonderful Honey in the whole world! I love working with scrap yarn, but I do get tired of having it spread out all over! The scrap projects just seem to take so much more time, but the finished product is always so fabulous!! I love all the different colors and textures!

A loomed hat and my latest KAL.


I was just updating a friend on the progress of the citrus tree she gave me. Thought I'd share. I am surprised that it has done so well this past month or so because it sits in the window and we turn our heat down very low at night. I was concerned that it would get too cold these last few weeks, but it seems to be thriving!

By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visable.

I finished the baby blanket! It certainly took alot longer to do than I had thought it would. But it was alot of fun! I really like the way the cotton worked up for this.


This mornings moon! Another very cold morning today, but it was so wonderful to wake up to no clouds!! Just bright, beautiful sunshine and clear blue skies!

Yesterday I took a short break in my knitting for other people and spent the entire day being totally selfish and doing something just for fun for me. All week my brain has just been jumping from one project to another to another. I'm sure it has something to do with the time of year. Cabin fever or something. I like to say that my creativity is kicking in! But close family members are giving it a negative twist and saying that I am bored and depressed. If I am bored and depressed then why am I so excited and thrilled about working on something different and happy with the results? (personally, I think they are jealous! LOL!)


So, anyway, this was my first project yesterday. A new purse/bag for me. I think it came out being larger than I had wanted. But the only jeans I had to work with were either very small (from back in my skinny days!) or very large (ones that never fit anyway!). I have several other purses that I have made, but they all seemed to be too small, so I went with the larger jeans. There is plenty of room inside for anything I may need! I even made a special pocket on the inside to hold my knitting! And of course, room for my camera! Those were the two things that I really needed more room for!



And this was my second project. A knitted rug using plastic grocery bags.
Awhile ago I had crocheted one. I hated it. (However, my daughter loved it and uses it every day!) This one was fun! I used about 20 bags of different colors (leftovers from our Christmas shopping trips!) and #15 needles. It's not very big, but it was just enough to let me know that I could do it, it was alot of fun and alot of work! Would I do it again? Probably not. But maybe.

Now, today, I must get back to my 'regular' knitting!!

I have been spending most of the my time this week on the sweater and baby blanket, so I don't have much to show in the way of mittens and hats!

Here is the newest sweater I've started.


And then last night I just couldn't help myself! I had to start something else new! A baby blanket using Peaches 'n Cream cotton.


Our Buckeye Tree. This poor little thing. My dad gave us this tree a couple of years ago. It was a volunteer in his yard that the squirrels had planted. Dad dug it up and gave it to us. We planted it. Thought it died. It got totally beat up during the whole barn tear down and building a new barn. It survived it all. I sure hope it survives the snow plow now!!

Child's Sweater for charity.


I used the basic pattern from Guideposts. But, of course, I had to do my own thing! This is the front. There are 3 cables running down the front from the neck to the waistband. And striped of varigated yarn across the sleeves.


This is the back. A bit of dark blue across the back of the sleeves along with the varigated.
Now, on to the next one!!
