A bright orange Butterfly Weed flower to greet the new week!

I promised myself I would get this yarn mess cleaned up yesterday.

LOL! Instead, I started something new!

Mr. Hummer has found my new feeder!
And the rabbit was back again. He will be ok as long as he stays out of the veggie garden!

His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor His delight in the legs of a man;
the Lord delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love.

Pumpkin update.
I planted my 2 Atlantic Giant Pumpkins outside on Thurs.
They each got one bag of composted cow manure, a sprinkling of 12-12-12 fertilizer and a good dose of water. They seem to be enjoying it out there!
I did cover them yesterday afternoon with a milk crate because we are having gusty winds. I will probably leave them covered for the day today.

Check out this little lady! A female finch was checking out our bathroom!
Do you think she was looking for some decorating ideas??!!

Two knitted clothes to be mailed out and put together with others for an afghan for cancer/chemo patients.
The white one will be used in an afghan for a lung/bone cancer patient. I chose to do a lighthouse in honor of my dad.
I also made a pink ribbon for a breast cancer patient.

Filled with compassion,
Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man.

Here is my dilemma: I started knitting some metered squares with Peaches 'n Cream cotton. It takes nearly as much time to make a square as it does to make one hat. All of the yarn I use for my charity work is donated to me. And now with the spring and summer months my knitting time is decreasing considerably. Should I continue making squares for an afghan? Or should I be spending that time making hats? (and then arises the questions of should I continue using just the cotton, or can I be mixing it with some acrylic? should I continue using just the metered squares, or can I be adding some squares of another stitch pattern? see what I mean about TOOOO much inspiration??!! I want to do it ALL!!) Because of using 'other peoples yarn', I feel a responsibility to do the 'right thing'. I'd appreciate some opinions from others.

LOOK what came in the mail yesterday!! I received this from one of my Yahoo groups: From the Heart of Texas, a wonderful group of ladies who knit and crochet for charity.
THANK YOU, Kayleen!

A few years ago I was given a large shoe box of tapestry wool. So far, I have just been using a bit here and there of it to add color stripes to the hats. I am wondering if anyone could tell me about this kind of yarn: would it be suitable for anything else? Such as mixed with acrylic for a child's afghan or lapghan?

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I put my hope.

Even the dandylions are just perfect at this time of year!!

We seem to have quite a few snakes hanging around this spring!
This one on the left surprised me yesterday. I wanted to pull some weeds in the flower bed and she didn't want any part of it!! She was happy right where she was and didn't want me around! So I let her be and went out to find something else to get into!
The one on the right I found last week just out enjoying the sunshine along the ditch bank.

Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord;
keep watch over the door of my lips.

We had some rain yesterday and woke up to heavy fog this morning.
Made for some excellent photo ops!

Made this hat using the Cro-Hook and 2 strands of Peaches 'n Cream cotton.
The more I work with this cotton, the more I am enjoying it! It took just a bit of getting used to because it doesn't have the stretch that the acrylic has.

Some damp dandy's!

I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

Forget-Me-Not
One of my most favorite flowers.
Such an intense, unforgettable, inspiring color of blue!

I was cutting some of the first blooms of the lily-of-the-valley when I found some little critters!

A couple more hats worked on the loom using a strand of cotton.

The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me.'

A couple of knitted hats.
The white one was worked with a stiff plastic circular needle that was passed on to me by a friend who said that there was just no way she could use it because of the way that she knits and the stiffness of the circular. Of course, I just had to try it! Just for fun. I love it!! LOL! I will be doing some serious 'waiting room' knitting next week and I am thinking this will be the 'tool of choice' for that day!
The brown hat is worked with some cotton/acrylic blend that I had donated to me quite some time ago. Then I added a very thin strand of wool with it to give it some visual interest and just that added bit of warmth.

Wild spring flowers.

New growth on the pine tree.

I know that the Lord is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods.
The Lord does whatever pleases Him, in the heavens and on earth, in the seas and all their depths.
He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; He sends lightening with the rain and brings out the wind from His storehouses.

An early evening view.

I spent yesterday playing around with the Peaches 'n Cream cotton on the round KK red loom. By itself, it isn't heavy enough but mixed with a sport weight acrylic, it makes a wonderfully soft and colorful hat!

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"
Jesus replied:" 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and the greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' "

A Morning Sparrow greeting the day!!

I was surprised to look out my window this morning and see this little guy having breakfast in my flower garden! I hadn't seen him for a couple of weeks. Next time I looked out, there were 2 more of him playing around in the morning sun!!

I dug out and dusted off my Cro-Hook the other day! I haven't used it for over a year. Oh what fun! I think I'll do a few more of these.

Let me live that I may praise You,
and may Your laws sustain me.

A knitted hat.

Even the dandylions are so bright and beautiful at this time of year!!

Unless the Lord builds the house, it builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.
In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat-
for while they sleep He provides for those He loves.

This is one of the ditches that my son and I hunted for asparagus along.
It was a perfect spring evening. The trees are all beginning to turn green, the birds are back, but the grass and weeds aren't too big yet!

Bright pink Tulip and a beautiful blue Forget-Me-Not.

Hats worked on the looms.

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

Knitted Child's Slippers

My son called last night and asked me to asparagus hunting with him. Of course, I said yes! And look what we found! We ended up with about 5 pounds!

Of course, I had to stop along the way and check out all the other fun things that I kept finding!

Great peace have they who love Your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.

We did not get the brunt of this storm. In fact, we seemed to be on the very outside edge of the worse of it. But, still, the clouds were impressive and amazing!

Knitted hat.

"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in My name, there an i with them."

Knitted hat and scarf set.
I started this scarf last week just so I would have something to keep my fingers busy while in dr. waiting rooms. (There was alot of that last week!) I ended up having so much fun with this set! I have to honestly say this was one of the most enjoyable projects I have done in the last few weeks! It is worked in Lamb's Pride Worsted, bright blue. It is just a simple 5X10 basketweave stitch.

Our heavy rains last week have brought out the blossoms!
Here is an apple blossom from our Red Delicious tree and a strawberry blossom.

Teach me, O Lord, to follow Your decrees, then I will keep them to the end.
Give me understanding, and I will keep Your law and obey it with all my heart.
Ps. 119:33-34
