I thought the wild phlox were done
for the season, but I found a large patch
of them still blooming!

Yesterday was perfect weather for a day at the playground!

Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
Hab. 3:17-18

Hollyhocks.
Another favorite of mine that seems to love
me back! They just keep spreading and multiplying!

We glued the colored macaroni on to a flower pot.
Hopefully today we can fill it with dirt
and plant it!

I have considered my ways
and have turned my steps to Your statutes.
I will hasten and not delay
to obey Your commands.
Ps. 119:59-60

Yesterday we colored macaroni.
(Mix 1 T. food coloring with 2 T. rubbing alcohol.)
We let it dry overnight and will
do something fun with it today!

It's been a few days of fun clouds!

Don't you know that friendship with the world
is hatred toward God?
Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world
 becomes an enemy of God.
Or do you think Scripture says without reason
 that God jealously longs
for the spirit that He made to live in us...?
James 4:4-5

The rosebush must be the hangout place
for the birds!

he who is humble and contrite in spirit,
and trembles at My word."

Mr. & Mrs. Goldfinch
enjoying a cool drink
on a warm day.

Knitted this jumper for
a gift to be given at the end of the summer.

I will walk in freedom,
for I have sought your precepts.

A quiet Sunday morning stroll
through the garden.

You, dear friends, build yourselves up
 in your most holy faith
and pray in the Holy Spirit.
 Keep yourselves in God's love
as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ
to bring you to eternal life.

I think this is my best daisy shot
of this season!
I really tried hard not to take as many this year!

Amazing how refreshing a rain can be
after so much hot and dry!

A sampling of the VERY much appreciated,
wonderful bag of yarn that was given to me.
THANK YOU, MISS CHRIS!!

Since ancient times no one has heard,
 no ear has perceived,
no eye has seen any God besides You,
who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
You come to the help of those who gladly do right,
 who remember Your ways.

The Hummingbirds were hanging around yesterday evening.
I think the Mrs. stopped long enough just to check out
what I was working on!
(I was knitting a child's sweater!)

I run in the path of Your commands,
for You have set my heart free.

The Black Swallowtails must have been hatching yesterday.
I found at least 5 of them in the Larkspur patch!

I rejoice in following Your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.
I meditate on Your precepts
and consider Your ways.

The beautiful, fragrant blossoms of my Cigar Tree!
This is one of my pride and joy trees.
I started this tree from seed about 16 yrs ago.
and it has already had an exciting life full of ups and downs!
The seed came from my ex's grandmothers place.
I knew her since I was a child and think of her often.

I seek You with all my heart;
do not let me stray from Your commands.
I have hidden Your word in my heart
that I might not sin against You.
Ps. 119:10-11

Here we thought only the furry, four-legged critters
were messing with the flowers!!
Mrs. Snapping Turtle wasn't too happy that I found her
and then took the opportunity for a photo shoot!
She quickly found her way back to the water!

The birds are enjoying the full
birdbath with this record-breaking heat.
And it gives me a perfect spot for photo ops!

This is His command:
to believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ,
and to love one another as He commanded us.

Blue Flax.
So dainty and beautiful!
Another favorite at this time of year!

And now dear lady, I am not writing you a new command
but one we have had from the beginning.
I ask that we love one another.
And this is love:
that we walk in obedience to His commands.

This is love for God:
to obey His commands.
And His commands are not burdensome,
for everyone born of God
overcomes the world.

Went outside with my morning coffee this morning.
I love taking pictures in the morning light at this of year!

Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous:

There is nothing that compares to the wonderful scent
of a wild rose!
There is nothing as thorny either!
(ok, the smell really does remind me of the smell
of some old Avon bottles!)

This is the day the Lord has made,
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

The beautiful, peaceful images of summer.
Daisy's and quilts hanging on the clothes line.

Child's T-top style knitted sweater.
Worked with Bernat Harmony yarn.

Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him,
so that he will not be overwhelmed by excess sorrow.
