The calm before the storm.
Yesterday these empty Trumpet Vine seed pods

Soon they will be clinking together in the wind again
as a major snow storm is headed this way.
During light breezes, they sound like windchimes.

Who can speak and have it happen
if the Lord has not decreed it?

Is it not from the mouth of the Most High
that both calamities and good things come?

Why should any living man complain
when punished for his sins?

In the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
They will perish, but You remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing You will change them
and they will be discarded.
But You remain the same,
and Your years will never end.
