LOL! Remember a few days ago when I said that I was really enjoying some 'down time' knitting (the logcabin), but that it wouldn't be long until my brain kicked into gear again??
LOL!! Well, it happened!! Yesterday!
I thought my head was just going to explode with ideas of things I want to do! And of course, I had to start some of them!
I started out with bringing down my bag of scraps and started a Scrap Scarf, worked lengthwise on #8 circulars. But then, things just seemed to move on from there! I did manage to finish this multi-colored hat that I worked on the loom using scrap pieces of rug yarn. And I finished this dark colored hat that was already started on a loom.
I got out the scarf board that my uncle made for me and started working a scarf in longer scraps of rug yarn. This is fun. I haven't worked on this board for quite some time. I am seriously thinking about trying to make a baby blanket with it. I've thought about it for years, but have always thought it would be too 'hole-y' for little fingers. But I guess I won't know until I try!

The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.

I found this pattern and just could not resist doing it!

Thought I'd share another winter activity of mine.
Trying to grow any seeds that I find in produce that we buy at the store!
So far, I'm not having much luck, but I sure am trying!
I have red and yellow bell peppers, clemantines, tangerines, navel orange, ruby red grapefruit, persimmon and an olive pit.

The way of the Lord is a refuge for the righteous,
but it is the ruin of those who do evil.
Prov. 10:29

An early morning baby praying mantis drying off from the overnight dew.

I did finish this hat on the loom yesterday. And as you can see I did seem to get involved in several other projects yesterday!

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Woke up yesterday to a 'fairy tale' snow!
A light dusting of wet, heavy snow that sticks to everything!
Thankfully, it didn't last long!
It warmed up and melted by afternoon.

Great peace have they who love Your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.

More spring flowers.
Can you tell that I am ready for spring?!
It was sunny and 42 degrees here yesterday. I'm ready to plant something!

Current WIP.
This is my 'comfort knitting'. At least for now. As I re-adjust from 6 weeks of holiday stress to weeks of winter downtime. I'm sure my brain will kick into gear and I will soon have so many projects started that I won't be able to keep track of them all! But for now, I am continuously, happily amazed at how comforting and soothing knitting is. How what is on my needles in my hands directly reflects my mental state at the time! I am getting so much enjoyment from this afghan. But, since Sept, it hasn't interested me in the least. It just sat there, beside my chair, and patiently waited. Knowing I would get back to it. It may very well get put aside again before it is finished. That's ok. It will still be waiting for me the next time I need it. When it is finished it will bless some small child that I will never meet. Knitting for charity is definitly a double blessing!!

For a man's ways are in full view of the Lord,
and He examines all his paths.

The Reason for the Season:
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.....
You have shattered the yoke that burdens them,
the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor...
For unto us a child is born ,
to us a Son is given,
and the government will be on His shoulders.
And He will be called
Wonderful,
Counselor,
Mighty God,
Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.

Is. 9:2-6

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field,
keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the
Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about
them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear
not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall
be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David
a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto
you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a
manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the
heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace,good will toward men." Luke 2:8-14

It is 'safe' now to post pictures of my Christmas gifts.
I found this fabulous pattern on the net:
http://www.christinascrochethaven.com/dress_towel_topper.htm
(Of course, I had to make my own changes to it to make it 'work' for me!)
This group of towels went to all my husbands nieces and nephews.

This set went to my SIL's and their husbands.

And this set will be going to my dear friend who is also my daughter's MIL!!

Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God;
may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

Playing around with color again!

When you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Frozen fog

I decided I needed to knit up a couple of last minutes gifts.
Ok, now I'm done!!

When you pray, go into your room,
close the door and pray to Your Father, who is unseen.
Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

I am SO excited!
LOOK what I got!!
Last week, this package came in the mail, along with an e-mail message sent just a day or so before telling me it was coming and also instructing me not to open it until Christmas!
I couldn't wait! As a 'reward' to myself after all my 'have to do' knitting, I opened it!!
What an inspirational book!!
THANK YOU, AMY!!!
I got so excited I thought my head was going to explode!!
I grabbed some needles and yarn and made these two hats!!
Ok, I didn't exactly follow any of the instructions in the book yet. I will save that until after the holidays. But all that inspiration!! I just couldn't hold back!!

I was looking back through some pictures from last spring and found this lovely iris. With the sun shining on it. So bright and beautiful.
Ok!!! I'm ready for spring!!

He determines the number of the stars
and calls them each by name.

Just LOOK at all these BEAUTIFUL cloths that came to me yesterday!!
THANK YOU, LYNDA!!!
They will be finding a new home through the local DVS.
But right now, I just want to sit and stare!!
They are all just so lovely!
I am sure they will be so much appreciated and enjoyed!

I knitted up this hat using some rug type yarn and size 13 needles.
I got quite a bit of rug yarn in the last donation I received. My first thought was to knit up a bunch of slippers. Now I am undecided! It works up so nicely and quickly into hats!

His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
nor His delight in the legs of a man;
the Lord delights in those who fear Him,
who put their hope in His unfailing love.
Ps. 147:10-11

I am back to doing 'my' knitting!!
Oh, it felt SO good! Just to sit with needles in hand and work on something I wanted to work on! So relaxing and rewarding!
So I finished up this child's sweater for charity.

We have SUNSHINE this morning!!
We have seen so little of it lately!
I am so excited to see it this morning!!

Frozen bushes.

Praise God in His sanctuary;
praise Him in His mighty heavens.
Praise Him for His acts of power;
praise Him for His surpassing greatness.

After the storm.
Just before dark, the sun came out for a few minutes. It was so beautiful!
The trees were just so sparkly from all the ice. Looked like God had done some Christmas decorating!

FYI! All my Christmas 'crafting' is done!!
Pictures will be posted the middle of next week.
Now, finally, back to my charity knitting!!

He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.

We have snow.
LOTS of snow!

You hem me in-behind and before;
You have laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

More ornaments.

OTN: Ok, I said I wasn't going to make anything for Christmas gifts this year. Nothing. This year was going to be just for my knitting in between all of the usual holiday activities. No preasure to get anything done.
Yeah, that didn't last long!
I am working on a couple of things. Of course I can't post pictures until after Christmas!
But I do still have 2 sweaters for charity on the needles that do get a bit of my attention here and there. And I think my head is going to explode with ideas to get started on after the holidays!!

The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
The Lord is good to all;
He has compassion on all He has made.

From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth;
and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.
God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him,
though He is not far from each one of us,
'For in Him we live and move and have our being.'

Bell peppers.
Growing in the house!

The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives men life and breath and everything else.
