Hats worked on the loom. As you can probably figure out, I've been on the bike more again the last couple of days!
I'll be working on mittens today I think.
Woke up to more snow this morning. It was so beautiful and peaceful when I went out this morning. But it didn't take long for the wind to pick up.
Jesus is not just beginning to save us-He has already saved us completely. It is an accomlished fact....the continual inner-searching we do in an effort to see if we are what we ought to be generates a self-centered, sickly type of Christianity, not the vigorous and simple life of a child of God. Until we get into this right and proper relationship with God, it is simply a case of our "hanging on by the skin of our teeth," although we say, "what a wonderful victory I have!"

I am so happy with the way it came out! Every sweater I do seems to be a bit more challenging than the one before. So every time I say 'this is the most challenging thing I've ever done'. I really mean it!
Show me Your ways, O Lord, teach me Your paths; guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long.

We woke up to some snow this morning! Here is our 'sparrow tree'!!
Actually, it is just the trumpet vine. A good place for the birds to hang out when the cats get too close to the feeder!
Baby hats made on the loom.
The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!

Here is a progress report on Natalie's sweater. I am finished with the back and each of the front panels. I am SO happy with the cables! I think I can honestly say that these are my favorite looking cables. I know that I am putting cables on the sweater that I am making for myself, but I like the looks of these cables so much better! Just wait, I will probably be putting cables on everything now!
And this is our weather today. Dark, gray, chilly.
Guess that means I'll just have to knit!!
The Lord confides in those who fear Him;
He makes His covenant known to them.

I have been asked to knit a sweater for my second cousin. This is the pattern I have decided on. It is from WorkBasket magazine Aug. 1972.
And here is the yarn I will be using!
He brought me out into a spacious place;
He rescued me because He delighted in me.

Another wonderful, generous yarn donation! From my Aunt! And this is so perfect because green was a color that I really didn't have alot of! This will make so many wonderful hats and mittens!!
THANK YOU, KATIE!!
A sweater update. I finished the front yesterday. Today I have to do the ribbing on the first sleeve. (I need the needles for another project!) I am doing real well with my 'one hour each day'. Well, ok, if I'm going to be totally honest, I'm not really doing all that great! I don't work on it for a day or so, but then I do make up the time all in one day! And look what is happening!! I'm really getting it done!! And the cables are inspiring me to make more cables on more things!
For the word of God is living and active... it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

This hawk landed in the tree and sat there just checking things out the entire time Hubby and I were at the table eating supper last night!
As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him.

I spent the entire day yesterday playing with some cables.
LOL! Ok, I'm still laughing at my HUGE 'oops'! So I guess I will confess. After spending about 5 hrs just on mittens, I realized I had two right handed mittens!!! LOLOL!!! So I had to go back and make a leftie!
But, at the end of the day, here is what I had! (oh, yeah, and an extra righty!)
We got just a bit of snow yesterday. This morning the cardinal showed up! I am so excited! I haven't seen him in months!
If I do my duty, not for duty's sake but because I believe God is engineering my circumstances, then at the very point of my obedience all the magnificent grace of God is mine through the glorious atonement by the Cross of Christ.

My geranium is in full bloom in the house right now. And probably will be until I take it back outside for the summer.
My parents had planted 3 of these in their garden. A year and a half ago in the fall, my dad dug them each up and put them in pots to take in the house. There was a red one, a pink one and a white one. When he brought them in, he cut them all back and forgot to mark which one was what color. So when he asked if I wanted one, I had no idea what color I was getting. I'm awful glad I got the white one! To be honest, it was in the largest pot and they didn't want it sitting around their place! Last summer I set it out on the back deck and pretty much forgot about it. Too much other stuff going on. This fall when I brought it in, I gave it just a bit of TLC and here it is in all it's glory!! It stinks and makes a mess on the floor, but I sure do enjoy this plant!
A man's wisdom gives him patience,
it is to his glory to overlook an offense.

The last of the baby hats for a while. Only because I was told that the hospital has enough on hand for the next month or so. That's ok with me. I have plenty of other things to keep me busy!!
This week, well ok, most all the time!, this is my favorite past time: eating and knitting!!!! LOL!
For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

These are knitted hats that I made yesterday. Of course, I only have about a dozen other things to do! But that bag of small bits of yarn was just sitting there yelling at me!! LOLOL!!
So then when I got up this morning, I decided that I am going to have to make an effort to work on my sweater every single day. I did well over the weekend. Worked on it for several hours. But if I don't stick with it, it will never get done. Not because I don't love it, but because I keep thinking I should be working on something else!
So, I have given it a name and am posting it here to help keep me motivated. It is now going to be called the One Hour Wonder Sweater!! I will work on it for at least one full hour every day, and it will be a wonderful wonder when I get it done!!! And every so often I will post pictures so that anyone who might be interested can see my progress and if I am sticking to my plan!
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who see You.

One knitted hat and one loomed hat.
We bought a 50# bag of red potatoes while we were in MI in Oct. The few that we have left are beginning to sprout. So I put one in some water! Hubby seems to think that I should be putting the sprouted end up. I thought the sprouted end went down. You are free to let me know which is which!
Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

More hats worked on the loom.
My daughter got a new digital camera for Christmas. Of course she immediately called and asked me to make her a case for it! (do I have her well trained, or what??!!!)
"You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss." James 4:3
If you ask for things from life instead of from God, "you ask amiss"; that is, you ask out of your desire for self-fulfillment. The more you fulfill yourself the less you will seek God. Have you ever sought God with your whole heart, or have you simply given Him a feeble cry after some emotionally painful experience. It is a humbling experience to knock at God's door-you have to knock with the crucified thief. "...to him who knocks it will be opened" Luke 11:10)

Hats worked on the KK looms.
When God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work - this is a gift of God. He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart.

I did it! Another pair of mittens! I really am having alot of fun with these!
I was asked to post a picture of my sweater. Not much to look at, but here it is. This is the completed back. From this picture, it is really hard to see, but there are 5 sets of cables running up and down it. It seems to have gotten put on the back burner again. For some reason, since I spent so much time on the gift knitting, I just kind of feel like I should be playing catch up with my charity knitting. But I'm thinking that in the next couple of weeks I will pick up again and not put it down until it is finished!
...by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy life- not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace.

We got up this morning to a dusting of snow on the ground! This is January! We should be talking about waking up to inches or feet of snow!! But I'm not complaining!!
More baby hats ready to go!
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

I'm needing some bright, beautiful color today! I am so excited! Our 'holiday socializing' is officially over! It has been a long 2 months! Time to relax and get back to 'normal'! (whatever that may be!)
Baby hats for the newborns at the local hospital.
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

More hats that I finished last week.
Yesterday I was busy with other things. I did not knit one single stitch all day! I think that must be a 'first'! I felt really strange when I went to bed last night! Knit withdraws, I'm sure! Will NOT be having that problem today!
A train crossing just as we were walking back from the post office the other day.
An evil man is snared by his own sin,
but a righteous one can sing and be glad.
