Socks!

Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." Jn. 8:34-36

Here are a few hats that I finished the other day. Just getting caught up on the pictures!

And LOOK what I did today! I made my Honey some 'socks'!! He has been bugging me for months to make him some. He just finally got it through my head that I could do it! I found some old rug yarn that my SIL had given me a few years ago. I used the small blue KK loom.

Summer Hat

For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear, I will help you. Is. 41:13

Ok, these pictures didn't download in order! The middle one is an old counted cross-stitch picture that I did in 1989. It was one of my very favorite peices. I loved the picture itself and throughly enjoyed stitching it.
The other two pictures are what I got into today! My mom saves the edges from her material for me! I crocheted myself a summer hat! I think it came out real cute. I just need to starch it a bit so it doesn't flop down over my eyes!

As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorace. 1 Pet. 1:14

On Friday the weather was so nice out that I went out to the garden and swept off all the rock walkways!

Catching up on pictures

....so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power. 1 Cor. 2:5

I seem to be getting behind on the pictures! By the time I get these pictures taken and posted, I have more ready to go!

I recieved this picture in the mail the other day along with a stack of hand written Thank-you's!! Do you see all the bright smiles on these cute kids??!! This is why I continue my hat project!

(Thank you, Linda!)

Nice day!

The Lord redeemds his servants, no one will be condemned who take refuge in him . Ps. 34:22

The sun is shining today! Warm temps. 35. I looked out the window this morning and saw 3 deer running across the field so I ran out the back door with my camera. Of course, by the time I got out there, they were pretty much gone! But I tried! This afternoon we went out to enjoy the lovely day. Tried to get the brush pile burned, but it is way too wet! Oh well. Another day!
I have been working on hats. I just haven't taken any pictures the last couple of days. I will get to it. I will just post a picture of all of them together!

Be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to obey his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and all your soul. Joshua 22:5

I just want to show off a few of my wonderful knitting needles. A very dear friend passed her extra's on to me and I so very, very much appreciate it! (Thanks, Jacky!) She is and has been a HUGE inspiration and influence in my life!

I normally have at least a half dozen hats going at one time! I can't even honestly say that these are my current WIP's. It changes hourly!. I took this picture a couple of hours ago, and it is outdated already!

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. 1 Cor. 14:33

Not too much going on today. Yesterday was just a perfect weather day! My daughter and I got out for a wonderful walk with lots of talking! Today the weather has changed. It is cold and windy. Just a good day to stay in and knit! So I guess I'll get back at it!

Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:18

Sunday, January 22, 2006

Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the whole duty of man.
For God will bring every deed into judgement,
including every hidden, whether it is good or evil. Ecc. 12:13-14

Woke up this morning to heavy frost! Very pretty! Of course, I had to get right out there and take some pictures!

Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be men of courage, be strong. Do everything in love.
1 Cor. 16:13

We went to the grocery store today. LOL! I really need something to take a picture of!!
Went for a walk around the yard when we got home. These mild temps are really messing with the flowers!!

A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? Ecc. 2:24,25

Get a little bit of snow on the ground and the silly birds feel the need to steal the cat food!
The hats are going rather slowly this week. Sore fingers. But still moving!

Every word of God is flawless, he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Prov. 30:5

Just look what we got up to this morning!! Yesterday it was rain and 52 degrees!!

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Prov. 29:25

No hat pictures today. I will get to them tomorrow. I am tired of only taking hat pictures! I miss my little critters! This grasshopper was from summer '04. This praying mantis is from last summer.

But now, this is what the Lord says,..."Fear not, for I have redeemed you, I have summoned you by name, you are mine." Is. 43:1

Here is what I've been working on the last several days. I am happily playing around with lots of colorful scraps! As you can see by all the stripes! The purple diagonal rib hat just didn't come out the way I had hoped. The 'fluffy' yarn just didn't work like I had expected. I don't think it is bad. Just not what I was expecting. I will do that stitch pattern again! But next time with different yarn. I love the 3X3 rib hat. It has ALOT of stretch to it! I think it will be quite warm. I already have another one like that on the needles in a varigated blue/brown/maroon. The blue loomed one ended up rather short. Ran out of that particular yarn. But I think it will work out just fine. It has two strands of different types of wool, so it should be warm.

Well, today seemed to just slip away from me! But it has been a great day! First, my son stopped over for awhile. Any visit from him is always good! Then, my step-daughter called. She has a new job so we don't get to chat as often as we did. Then, my daughter came over. She has been so very busy the last few months, and a nice chat with her is always welcome. When I hear from or see all the kids in one day, it's always a GREAT day! So, the hat work didn't get much done. I did get one finished yesterday and I am on my way to finish one tonight! I will post pictures of all tomorrow!

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men. Titus 3:1

Ok, here it is. My first attempt at crocheting with strips cut from a plastic bag. Nothing about it is perfect. This is my 'guinea pig' peice! It is about 14"X 24". Too small for a good rug. But good for practise. It looks kind of neat! It takes just a bit more 'work' than using yarn, just because it is not as easy to work with as yarn. Not as stretchy and slippery. To be honest, I'm not really sure if I will be making another one. I will see how well it holds up to any kind of useage! I recieved some terrific rug patterns from a new freind. (Thanks, SheWolf!) Now I really want to make a rug with either multiple strands of yarn or with fabric strips. My mom makes quilts and has been saving the edging that she cuts off for me. ... hmmm, I may even play around with those and see if I can make a hat.

He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spread them out like a tent to live in. Is. 40:22

We had to get out and enjoy the day today! Unusually warm temps and lots of bright sunshine! This is the Mighty (Muddy) Maumee River at Grand Rapids, OH.
Oh it was so nice to get out and get a breath of fresh air and some sunshine and go for a walk!
Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. IS. 40:26

Here are the hats that I finished yesterday and the evening before.
This morning I am trying to get this plastic bag rug finished.
This afternoon we are going over to the river!! The sun is shining and we have lots of blue sky! It is windy, but it will be nice to get out for a breath of fresh air!
Of course, I will post pictures when we get back!

Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth. Prov. 10:4
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts. Col.3:15
Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Eph. 6:10

I think with my evening cup of coffee I will look over this web page: http://jimsyldesign.com/~dishbout/kpatterns/knitting.html
I started a hat last night, thinking I would use a new stitch pattern with a multiple of 3. Well, after a few rows I decided I'm not liking it well enough to do for another 8 inches!! So now I'm thinking I will try out another stitch pattern or two and make it a 'sampler' hat!!

Ok, well, I'm on way back to hats. Yes, I finished one yesterday. And one so far today. But I don't feel like taking the time to mess with pictures right now. I will in the morning.

"I sought the Lord and he answered me, he delivered me from all my fears." Ps. 34:4

I finished up this hat this morning. I have been doing so much knitting the last few months that it was really nice to do some crocheting again. This is one is worked in sc in the backloop only. Starting with ch 80. Then continueing for about 15-17 inches. Nothing difficult. A very good one for tv time! This one got worked on during the football game and Nature last night!
