We were over to my parents place yesterday for just a bit. Here are some flowers from thier gardens.

Moss Roses are one one my dad's favorite.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5

Now that my knitting skills are progressing, I have decided that I needed some kind of a row counter besides just paper and pencil. After much consideration and looking through magazines and such, here is what I have come up with! I made it a few days ago and have been using it and working the 'kinks' out (literally!). I love it!! It is working out fabulously! It gets the job done, it is bright and colorful, and I did it all myself! Funny, how such a small acomplishment can make me feel so good!! LOLOL!!!

My little critters are growing up! My praying mantis are becoming 'teen-agers with attitude'!!
Now that I am doing more picture taking, I am noticing that we have sooooo many different kinds of grasshoppers! I had no idea that there were so many varities! How very cool!!
Hats done on the loom.

Knitted hats. The blue one is done using the Friendship Chain stitch pattern. It looks very lovely when it is stretched out a bit. I really like the 'stretchier' stitch patterns for the charity hats. The purple hat is done with a few rows of garter stitch then stockinette stitch.

And MORE flowers!!!

Our Daylillies are beginning to bloom!

I knitted a shawl for my SIL who will be starting chemo tomorrow.
A long-distance hug. (((Jodi)))
I used RedHeart TLC Amore yarn in dk. green in St st.
Then I used some scraps for a basketweave stripe with some color.

Thank you, Alison, for the pattern!
Never seek after anything other than the approval of God.

More flowers! Every day now, something new is happening in the gardens!

Knitted hats. I am starting to play around with some 'new to me' stitch patterns. I will always keep a basic knitted hat on the needles for those 'away trips', you know, dr. office visits and such. But for at home stuff, I think it is time to move on to some more challenging things. Don't want to get bored you know!!
As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him. Ps. 18:30

The grandkids came over yesterday!
We had to go 'bug collecting'!
Hunter found a fuzzy. And Jasmine found a tiny toad!!

We also found lightening bugs and grasshoppers. And had to go for a walk on the RR tracks. Didn't find much there. But had a wonderful evening!!
Our Moonflowers are starting to open! They are so fun to watch! And they smell so wonderful!

This little guy was hanging onto the screen in the window right here beside my computer for dear life the other day while it was raining! He must have dried off and flew away because he was gone yesterday morning. But he was so gorgous. Looked like fluffy copper!
After the rain, I had to get out and see what new flowers popped open! Here is a snapdragon that is a volunteer from my mom's garden. And a pot marigold that is one of our volunteers from about 3 yrs ago!! Amazing!
Went blueberrie picking with my mom yesterday. Didn't get a chance to take too many pictures because I was busy picking. We picked about 16 pounds! Came home and made a coffee cake!"I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

Just some misc. pictures from yesterday morning.

This was today's sunrise! Beautiful. After another evening of severe storms.
And just LOOK! In these 4 pots I had trees planted that I had started from seed. 3 pine trees and 1 unknown. The local raccoons decided to have some fun last night. This is what I woke up to this morning! What a mess!!
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

Anyway, I got a few shots of little critters yesterday!

storms
Found this little guy having lunch yesterday afternoon. My 'babies' are growing up so fast!

We had storms roll through last night. I got some amazing cloud pictures as it came in.

Then a beautiful rainbow as it was leaving!

And then guy was out having some breakfast this morning!

This is love for God: to obey His commands.
And His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world.

Hats done on the KK loom.

We got just a bit of rain last night. Hopefully we will get more today!

LOOK what the mailman brought to me yesterday!!
A PACKAGE!!!
And it's not even my birthday or Christmas!!
LOLOL!! (I was expecting the package, but it is still fun to get something in the mail!!)

Inside there is a Tulip Tree, another tree and biscotta!

THANK YOU, Max and Jacky!!!
Whoever has My commands and obeys them, he is the who loves Me. He who loves me will be loved by My Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him. John 14:21

After another long day in a waiting room yesterday, I went out to water a few things last night.
Here is an update on my pumpkin. There are 3 other plants, but they are still so small that I'm not expecting much from them! These two will get my TLC!!

Then I nearly stepped on this little guy. He was out for his evening walk as well!!
This purple hat was worked with WW yarn on #6 needles. I usually use #8. But I really liked the way this came out. A bit thicker, but not too stiff.
"Let not your heart be troubled." John 14:1
Am I then hurting Jesus by allowing my heart to be troubled?

Got busy with other things and didn't get out for flower pictures yesterday. But here are my latest 2 knitted hats. The blue one is worked in Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride. That is some of the nicest yarn I have ever worked with! So soft and wonderful! The green one is a 'scrap' project! Just using up some various yarns I have. I enjoy using all the different colors and see how they all come together! (honestly the ribbing on this one is a teal color, not blue!)

Kind of a quiet day yesterday. That was nice. Need to take full advantage of those these days, you know. My daughter stopped over for a visit. My son had stopped by the evening before. Always good to see my kids!

back to the hats!
LOL!! No, I didn't do all of these over the weekend!! LOL!
These are the ones that I have worked on while at dr. offices the last week or so. I have just been so busy working on the sweater while I'm at home, that I haven't had a chance to finish them off and get them posted.

Our first Hollyhock bloomed yesterday!!

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 2 Peter 1:3-4

gift set for my dad
I am finally finished with the sweater and matching hat for my dad.

We had thought that his first chemo would be this last week. But things changed and his first treatment will be next Friday. That freed up the entire day on Thurs. for me. I was pretty excited. I had wanted so badly to be able to have this done before his first treatment. I have been working feverishly the past 2 1/2 days to get it completed. It is done. And it is in the washer/dryer as I type. We will be taking it over to him later this morning.
The pattern was found in Knit 'N Style April 2005. (with my own little changes of course!) I used RedHeart SuperSaver yarn in Heather Grey. I am happy to have it finished just because I know he really needs something warm and cuddly right now and I am in a hurry to get it to him. But this is the most challenging project I have ever tackled. And I really enjoyed working on it!
Of course, now I have to get back to my hats for charity, but I am already thinking ahead to another sweater!
The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. James 5:11

Here is my dad's hat.

Some more recently opened flowers. The honeysuckle are just getting started and they just smell heavenly!! Especially when the air is very heavy and still as it is this morning. Just stepping out the back door is so wonderful!
Did some weed pulling the last 2 days. Founds lots of baby grasshoppers!! I wanted to take a picture of every single one!! But of course, I didn't! I wouldn't have gotten anything done!!
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in humility that comes from wisdom. James 3:13

updates!
First I will start with my dad's sweater. I was able to get quite a lot of knitting done yesterday! Felt good! I finished the front and got it stitched together and got a good start on the first sleeve. However, there just seems to be no way possible that I will have this finished in time for his first chemo treatment. So this morning I decided to knit him up a bright, colorful, soft, fuzzy hat. He said that he won't need one, but we will see. I will have it ready just in case!

Here are my pumpkins! I am so proud of them! They are doing very well!!
And LOOK!!! I have more!!!
Here is a peony. My parents gave us this start from one their bushes about 2 yrs ago. Last year there was only one little flower. This year we have 3 huge blooms!
And Mr. Toad stopped by yesterday morning. These guys just aren't much of a challenge to photograph anymore. In fact, they all just sit there like they are enjoying getting thier picture taken! This fellow even turned around and let me get his other side before hopping off!!
Movement does not cause life, but it does invariable follow life. It's a sure sign that life is present. Similarily, genuine faith in Christ should always result in actions that demonstrate faith.

Here is the sweater update! I am happy to say that I got the color stripe done yesterday! I am very happy with it! (those 7 rows took me all day to complete!!) My dad will be having a port infusion put in next week so I have decided to make the slit in the front a bit longer. Hoping it will be easier for him. I hope to get alot done over the weekend. (well, that's the plan, anyway!) Hopefully another update on Monday morning!!

Of course I have flower pictures to share!!

I had every intention to update my progress on the sweater this morning. But things just aren't going the way I had planned!! I will do it tomorrow.
But here is an update on my pumpkin! These two are looking great! It is raining here this morning, I am still hoping that I will have another plant or two come up. It is getting so late in the season though that any hopes of a #500 pumpkin are getting slim!!

I picked strawberries again yesterday morning. This one just looked so perfect! But he didn't stick around long! (he didn't make it to the house!)
This is one of my mom's roses.
Yesterday evening I went out to put a couple of plants in the ground and I found these little critters. Oh the joys of playing outside!!

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you kow that the testing of you faith develops perseverance.

Just a quick flower update today.
Here are some black raspberry blossoms. We have 3 bushes in our front yard and have never eaten a single berry! Those silly birds always get them first!
A cornflower. Most of the cornflowers we have are a solid dark blue. This streaked one really caught my eye!
The first mini rose to bloom this season. This little bush has been through soooo much and still continues to bloom! It was in a dumpster behind a grocery store. I saved it, brought it home, planted it. Fabulous. Then it needed to be moved several times due to house remodeling. It just doesn't seem to mind at all!!
A wild rose bloom. Dug this bush up from the ditch bank in front of the house. These little roses have just the absolutely best smell!! But they are loaded with thorns!
And the first galardia of the summer to bloom. I prefer to call them blanket flowers. Just sounds better! Hubby calls them goblins. Whichever. The first ones are always the most appreciated and best loved!
God comes and takes us out of our emotionalism, and then our complaining turns into a hymn of praise. No power on earth or in hell can conquer the Spirit of God living within the human spirit; it creates an inner invincibiltiy. (O. Chambers)
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise. Heb. 13:15
