Child's knitted hat.

Raspberries, Coreopsis, Daisy

God's purpose is for me to depend on Him and on His power now. If I can stay calm, faithful, and unconfused while in the middle of the turmoil of life, the goal of the purpose of God is being accomplished in me. God is not working toward a particular finish - His purpose is the process itself....it is the process, not the outcome, that is glorifying God.

LOOK!! All my little critters are back!!
Clockwise from top: Black Swallowtail Catepillar, Tomato Horn Worm,
and a Monarch Catepillar!

He who gives to the poor will lack nothing,
but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses.
Prov. 28:27

Worked a hat on the loom the other day. Seriously, I need to get back on the exercise bike so I can get some more of those done!
The first wild Morning Glory greeted me this morning!

We were out looking around at the gardens yesterday and look what I found!
A praying mantis shed.
They shed about 12 times a year as they grow up, but like snake sheds, you have to be at the right place at the right time to find them!

Then a few hours after we were back in the house, I found this guy! He must have followed us in! I would gladly have let him stay awhile, but I didn't have anything to offer him to eat, so I sent him on his way.

All man's ways seem right to him,
but the Lord weighs the heart.
Prov. 21:2

This hat is worked with some very soft, thick yarn. Of course, no label! So I have no idea what kind it is! I'm thinking some kind of wool blend. But the color changes are amazing!

When I grabbed the skein of yarn for this hat out of the box, it was beginning to get dark. I wasn't picky about what I wanted to work with, I just felt the need for something soft. Imagine my complete surprise as I was working and these stripes started appearing!! Oh what fun!!

In spite of our 'abnormally dry/mild drought' conditions, we do have just a few flowers that seem to be defying the rule of nature that says they need water!!

After working on 'large' projects for awhile, I think I need a little time to just work on small, mindless things for a bit. Besides, some things are coming up where I think the next few weeks may be getting busy. Although, I am still working on the cotton squares for an afghan and I am occasionally picking up the log cabin afghan and working on a few rows at a time. This is the first time in quite awhile that I don't have a sweater on the needles!

Pilate asked Him, "Aren't you going to answer? See how many things they are accusing You of."
But Jesus still made no reply, and Pilate was amazed.

And here it is! All those squares are put together!
I crocheted a simple, shell stitch edging around it in white.

In his heart a man plans his course,
but the Lord determines his steps.

For those of you following the baby blanket progress, I did start putting squares together yesterday. But I needed a brain break from things! Felt the need to do some simple, non-challenging knitting yesterday, so I finished this hat that's been on the needles waiting for me for quite some time!

Hubby and I went for a little walk yesterday and I found some beautiful wild flowers!

And look who was waiting for us when we got back!
This little fellow was hanging out on a newly opened Lemon Lily.

By wisdom a house is built,
and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasurers.
Prov. 24:3-4

Shades of Purple Sweater!

Not real sure what to say about it. It's pretty much self-explanatory. I just made two mitered squares with some various shades of purple yarn that I had, then added the yoke and sleeves. It was kind of an 'experiment' for me. I'm sure someone out there has a pattern for such a sweater. But I didn't follow any pattern. I've just been working with mitered squares quite alot the last few months and decided to try making a sweater with them! I'm thinking of making another one. Perhaps in a slightly smaller size, with more 'boy' colors. But I seriously have got to spend some time finishing up some projects!

The eyes of the Lord keep watch over knowledge,
but He frustrates the words of the unfaithful.
Prov. 22:12

Roses!
Clockwise from top: This bright and lovely red one was the only flower that was here on this property when my ex and I bought the place. The first evening that we came here and looked at the house, these were the only bright spot of color around! That was many, many years ago! The beautiful pink one is a wild rose that I dug up from the ditch and re-planted here by our back door. I have never seen so many thorns on a rose, but I have also never smelled such sweet roses! The orange one is one that was at my mom's place last week when were there. And the single petal pink one is some that my daughter and I found yesterday along the ditches and RR tracks when we went for our walk. I had never noticed so many of them before! They were everywhere! And just blooming so wonderfully!!

More squares!
Are you completely tired of seeing squares yet? That's ok, I'm nearly done! To be exact, I have just one more to finish. Then it will be time to put them together! I have never put knitted squares before together. I've been rather nervous about it, but now that the time is nearly here to do, I'm really beginning to look forward to it!!

Heaven and earth will pass away,
but My words will never pass away.

More squares.

Pumpkin update!

Humility and fear of the Lord bring wealth and honor and life.
Prov. 22:4

We had a family of barn swallows come by yesterday.
They showed up just as it was beginning to rain.
These 5 babies had to learn to fly and take a shower all at the same time!

Pumpkin update!
We covered the joints and put fertilizer on them just before the rain moved it.
We didn't end up getting much rain so we did water them last evening.
I think they doubled in size overnight!

And more squares!

There is no wisdom, so insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.
Prov. 22:30

More squares.
Ok, I have to admit, these squares are addicting!
I have other projects that I am working on right now. So I really don't feel like I can give my total concentration just to these squares. But seriously, I can't stop! LOL!
Here's the thing: each square normally takes at least 2 reps of the pattern. Most times 3 or 4 reps. By the time I am half way finished, I'm getting bored with it. And it is a struggle to finish the square. But then, I do those last 4 rows of garter stitch, bind off, and I can't wait to start another one!! Just to see what it will look like!! Crazy, huh??

BUGS!
Went out with my camera the other day and just look at all the little critters I found!
This is what I miss in the winter!

A man's steps are directed by the Lord.
How then can anyone understand his own way?
